Aaron Rodgers in the office ya’all

by Jim Ludes on August 5, 2008

Learn it. Live it. Love it.

It’s officially on as Brett Favre and Mike McCarthy agree his time in Green Bay is over.

If I live in Wisconsin I’m not loving that my new starting QB has played significant minutes only twice and each time come off the field with an injury after watching a guy play through them for 16 years STRAIGHT. I’m not thrilled that “my” team that went to the NFC Championship game is being turned over to a fella that’s thrown fewer than 60 career passes. But MOST OF ALL… I’m not thrilled that Aaron Ridgers looks in every interview now how B.J. Novak’s character of Ryan on The Office looks when he gets his promotion, grows his beard and gets hooked on coke. Good luck with that!

Jim, that is too funny.

Come on, let’s give young Aaron Rogers a chance before we completely dismiss him. While Favre helped lead Green Bay to the NFC championship game, his wishy washy attitude at the end of every season was wearing thin on management. I think Ted Thompson has done and excellent job of accquiring talented players. Brett even admitted as much last year in training camp when he said “This is the most talented goup of players I’ve ever been around”, So I think we should give the GM the benefit of the doubt. I will however agree with you about the injuries. It does appear that the Packers are replacing a Bowling Ball with a China Plate…. Let’s just hope those injuries were flukes and not an indication of how Rogers will turn out.

I am glad the Packers have moved on. It is obvious that Favre was not committed to the Packers anymore. I don’t think his quest for the Lombardi trophy will be going through any other team. I think another team will use him as a stopgap measure until their younger draft picks/talent are ready. Favre cannpt be any teams longterm solution.

I could not care less…I just love that I see Ryan every time that dude’s interviewed. I think Rodgers (if healty) will be just fine and may be the ultimate fantasy sleeper. Favre’s looking very much like the Bucs next guy. I’d LOVE to see Tampa bring in recently retired Warren Sapp and John Lynch (who recently quit on my team)…
